Long Marston Church of England School is an OFSTED rated ‘good’ school for pupils aged 4 to 11. The school has an admission number of 20 and currently admits pupils into Reception in Class 1 each September.
The School would like to change its admission age to include Nursery age children, providing up to 15 morning, 15 lunch time and 15 afternoon, high-quality places for the ‘Rising 4’ age group. The setting would run for 38 weeks per year, in line with school term times and dates; it is likely that sessions would be from 08.45 – 11.45 and from 12.15 – 15.15 with an optional lunch time club from 11.45-12.15 and opportunity to attend after school club. This would require changing our pupil admission number for reception (PAN) from 20 to 15. We are running a parallel consultation on the change in our admissions policy for this to be possible.
There is a great deal still to consider in relation to the proposal and we are very interested in finding out the views of our local community. Ideally, if the response is positive, we would seek to open the new Nursery at the start of the Autumn term 2023.
We are seeking responses to this consultation by 27th January 2023, either by sending the attached response form to the Long Marston school office or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Thursday 12th January, at 9.00, Laura Whateley (Headteacher) and Tanya Garner Veal (Class 1 teacher) will be available to discuss this consultation with any parents who would like to. There will also be a meeting at All Saints' Church, Long Marston, after the service, on Sunday 8th January at 11.30, for anyone else in the community who would like to discuss the consultation with Jane Banister (Chair of Governors).
