This term we have continued to learn about the Victorians. We created our own Victorian Museum, presenting our ideas about 'What the Victorians Gave to Us'. Each group chose a theme and then created banners, posters and a museum exhibit, as well as making sure they knew plenty of information to share with the visitors to our museum! We really enjoyed sharing our learning with our parents as well as with children from Class 2.
This term started with a very exciting event - a sleepover on HMS Belfast! We met at the ship on Saturday evening and were welcomed on board by our guide. We made mini flag poles and mess mugs, then had a tour of the ship, including the captain's bridge and the flag deck. We learnt about Morse code and semaphore, as well as lots of information about the lives of the men who lived on the ship. We slept (or at least attempted to!) in bunks in the mess decks. Great fun was had by all!
