Class 5 worked with Jane to plan and deliver our Mothering Sunday service. They chose Luke 13:34 as their reading:

Jesus said, "How often I have wanted to gather you and your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wing."

During the service, we added feathers to a hen, with each feather having the name of someone who mothers us, and we gave thanks for all these people. The children also made small origami chickens to give to all our guests at the service, to remind them of our thanks. We finished with a candle lighting prayer, lighting candles for all mothers, for families around the world, and for the family of the church.
