Spring 1
Class 2 have had a very busy half term. We have enjoyed learning about different festivals from Hinduism in RE. We particularly enjoyed making statues of Ganesh when we were learning about Ganesh Chaturthi – the birthday festival of the Hindu God Ganesh. In Science, we have learnt about different scientists. Some of the activities we tried were making telephones and seeing if sound passes through materials, seeing how quickly germs are spread, making rainbows with touches and prisms and testing gravity and our reflexes. In DT we have been creating different types of sculptures and enjoyed making mannequins using pipe cleaners, clay sculptures creating inside and outside spaces and drawing our friends in different poses. We began our term with our Great Explorers topic and enjoyed finding out about different explorers through history.
