Summer Photos

Wow what a busy half term! Class 2 have enjoyed their trip to Woburn Safari Park, the sea lions and giraffes were firm favourites. (Please see the gallery for photos from the trip). We had a great time on sports day and loved sharing our lunches with family and teddies at the teddy bear’s picnic.

We have enjoyed learning about seasides in geography, with a focus on rock pools and learning about the features of the coast. We have looked at photos to help us to identify features of seasides and likes learning the seven continents and main oceans around the world.

In science we have been learning about plants and what they need to grow. Our experiment to see if plants need sunlight to grow is proving that successful with the seeds on the windowsill growing the tallest. We have all planted our own pea plants and have observed them germinate and grow into seedlings.

In DT we have made Ferris wheels and peg people. We’ve enjoyed planning our work. We have got better at selecting the most suitable materials and our cutting skills have improved.

This half term class 2 have enjoyed forest school. We have enjoyed a whole host of activities over the last few weeks. We have used the forest school area to make dens, rope swings and practise tying knots. We have made s’mores, tried nettle crisps and nettle tea. We definitely enjoyed the s’mores the most. We have used microphone Mike to talk into. We have had animals (cuddly toys) in forest school and played zoos.

In science, we have been finding out about different materials. We have created different tests – which materials bend, stretch and twist and which materials are waterproof. In problem solving, we have been finding all possibilities. In history we have been finding out about Victorian holidays - how they are the same and different to holidays today. We created posters advertising steam trains and how they made holidays more affordable. In RE we have been learning about the Torah and some of the stories in it. We have made our own scrolls that show some of the stories of Moses.

We enjoyed learning the coronation song, working in family groups and celebrating the King's Coronation.
