Summer 2021

Summer Term 2

Class 2 have worked really hard this summer. We have enjoyed practising and competing in sport’s day. Class 2 has loved forest school this half term. We liked making dens for our teddy’s, eating insects and bugs and playing games with Julie. We have made bracelets and flower necklaces. We have used tools to drill holes for bug homes and carved spears out of sticks to roast marshmallows on.

Summer Term 1

Class 2 have enjoyed the sunny weather (at the beginning of the summer term) learning different ball skills in Real PE. This was linked to the story John and Jasmine learn to juggle.

We have enjoyed learning about different nurses and created some amazing portraits using paint, paper, fabric and wool. In Literacy we have looked at different genres linked to nurses – particularly non-fiction. We have written job adverts, information booklets and non-chronological reports. We found out that Florence Nightingale had a pet owl called Athena so we created our own versions. We also made sculptures using clay – either a person or a sculpture with an inside outside space. Everyone’s pea plant grew and we are now growing sunflowers too.

On rainy days we have enjoyed yoga and introduced some new games - the rain stick game and What’s the time Mr Wolf? We are hoping for some drier weather so that we can get back out and do Real PE!
